Refutor (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use Refutor, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. By using Refutor you agree to the practices described here. Our contact for privacy matters is support@refutor.com.

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data under these bases:
We use your data to:
Debate content you submit is processed by a third-party AI provider acting as a sub-processor. We do not share your name, email, or account details with AI providers for those requests. Content is transmitted securely and is not used to train third-party models under our agreements. We never display AI provider names in the Refutor interface.
In Mediator sessions, each participant's submission is kept private from the other party until Refutor delivers its verdict. We store both submissions temporarily to generate the shared verdict and retain them as part of your session history. The second participant does not need an account; their submission is linked to the session code only.
We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active. You may schedule account deletion from your profile settings; after a 30-day retention window, associated data is permanently removed (you can cancel by signing back in during that window). Anonymised, aggregate analytics data may be retained indefinitely. Billing records may be kept longer where required for tax or accounting.
All users receive GDPR-baseline rights. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
To exercise these rights (including DSAR and Do Not Sell requests), use our contact form or email support@refutor.com with a clear subject line such as DSAR request or Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. For CCPA opt-out instructions, see our Do Not Sell or Share page.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Refutor after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
